Ok, so I was working on my Ranger in Auto Class. simple enough, right? Wrong.
My teacher and I agreed that this is the first time the front has probably had maintenance done on it since 1986; with that being said, it's pretty ugly.

We were taking out the Spindle and replacing the Bearings, seals, etc. I accidentally happened to snap a Spindle bolt while removing the nut. The bolt snapped in half.

My auto teacher called around town to stores such as Napa, Oreilly Auto Parts, and Advanced (UGH) and came up with nothing. He told me to go to the Ford dealership and see if they can order me a set of Spindle Bolts.

This is where I need help. After doing some research after school today, I learned that my front axles are Dana 28's. It's Friday night, Dealership is closed and I had to work after classes, so I've had no time to go talk to the Dealership.

Does anyone know where I could buy a Spindle Bolt? Maybe a set of 5? How about a guesstimated price of one bolt / a set of 5? Attached picture shows the state of the Ranger (passenger side) brake setup, without the Spindle and such. The bolt I broke is right underneath the Axle, for referrence to what I'm talking about.

Any input is appreciated, even if it is constructive criticism. Thank you!

Unfortunately your only 2 options are the dealership (they may not be able to get them) or used parts from someone on here or a junkyard.

Good Luck

If nothing else you can try a specialty bolt shop.

Just put a bolt in it if you are stuck....grade 8 is more than fine as the bolts are not in shear because the spindle fits into the knuckle.

So a normal bolt the size of the spindle studs might work?
I'm trying to plan out, as if all of my current options fail me. I like to prepare for the worst, so if it does happen I'm ready. If it doesn't happen, then I get happy.

throw a grade 8 bolt in it like sasquatch said and youll be fine

Wow, quite a while since I posted on here.
Well, as a follow up. I took the spindle stud to Oreilly Auto Parts and they found me a replacement. Those long lines in the beginning of the bolt (I dont know the technical term for them) were a little bit longer, but the nut for the stud didnt touch them, other than that it was a direct fit!

1 new spindle stud and 5 nuts for it cost $7 roughly, but at least I can continue working on the Ranger! :D
