daily doubler build

I guess I just learned to weld from experience. We had like a 2 week welding unit during my high school Ag. mechanics class (5yrs ago) but not really enough to learn anything. The quickest way to learn is by experience. Every project on this truck has required a decent amount of welding. I think I burned up close to 4 lbs of rod just with this SAS.

I haven't been into MO yet, but I wheeled at Rockport offroad park a few years ago. I'd like to make it over to Hannibal Rocks or even Flat Nasty sometime though.

Yea, i wish in highschool I would have taken Ag they did alot with welding at my school, but for some stupid reason I wasn't interested in it at that time, so that would have helped me alot.
-Flat Nasty is alot of fun, you can run trails at night, they are marked pretty good with trail maps available, they have nice grassy flat field for camping and you can have camp fires, its more fun in trucks but you can run bikes and quads there, but after running all 3 there i will stick with vehicle.
-Another Park but further away from you is SMORR, in Seymour Mo, from what I here its even better than Flatnasty around 950 acres, but cannot run dirtbikes and Atvs, limited schedule.
Both in my opinion are best in state for offroad trails, some other parks ive been to not quite as big.
Also probally closer to you than us is Badlands, great park, also some park in south ,western corner of Indiana that looks pretty good.
-if u decide to come to Flat Nastys let me know and ill meet you there as long as one of my trucks is up and going.

I've wheeled the Badlands more than any other park. Haven't been there since the new owners took over though. I'll definitely post up if I make it over to Flat Nasty. I'd hate to drive all the way over there just to wheel by myself

I had no idea Badlands was under new owners.
Yea you have to be extremely careful there by yourself, my wife and I went in January and had it all to ourselves in my Bronco before i tore into it for my build, we drove very easy but still took 85% of trails, was great time. Yea let me know, we would like to go again in the Fall. To much coming up right now. Would you drive or trailer your truck?

Yep, the guys that used to run Paragon own and operate it now I guess. I hope they mark the trails and make em one way. I hated coming to trail traffic that's going the opposite direction. Wheeling on your own is kinda tricky, you usually meet people on the trails though so its all good. We're in the process of forming a fairly solid off road club here, so hopefully I won't go on many trips alone again.

If I did make it over there this year, it'd be around fall time as well. I've got access to a trailer, but I'd probably drive it, for the pure bad-ass-ed-ness of it lol. I've never trailered my truck , why start now?

Bumpstops are done, fenders are trimmed, and had a little "shakedown" over the weekend. I'm pleased

Thought I'd take a pic before I started hackin on the fenders

and that's the only pic I got while during the bumpstop build haha. Here's the day after testin it out. Not too shabby for a DD :D. I still haven't found anything that makes me lift a tire. I'll have to bust out the loader and get some numbers.

May have do to a little more just to make sure I don't chew up a tire. Its sittin on the bumpstop though.

Awesome man... I'm pro-fender if you decide to try and fit them on again :)

Looking good. Time for an RTI ramp?

Thanks guys. I like it with flares better as well. After I get all my trimming done, I may opt for the pacer flares. Time will tell. Yeah I'd like to get it on an RTI just for kicks.

Looks good. :icon_thumby:
Yeah, get the Pacer flares. Should clean it up a good bit if you get the old holes covered up (or reuse them for mounting the Pacer flares maybe).

How do you like the SSRs?

I dunno, I kinda dig it without the flares.... But they don't look bad. Looking good.

Again, thanks guys!

junkie - I had planned to use the existing holes to mount the pacer flares if I decide to get em. I'd have to hold em up and see how much would need trimmed to do so. The SSR's are doing decent so far. Road noise is tollerable (can't hear it over radio) and have decent traction for what I've used them for thus far. I haven't gotten into any rocks yet, and haven't even aired em down. I'm wheelin with JohnnyU this weekend, I'll air em down and see how they bite - its gonna be wet out. I guess anything would be better than the bald Kumho's I had before.
