daily doubler build

is the ssr a radial tire? i am thinking about running those tires, the 35x10.50 but i dont know how long lasting they are for a dd? i guess i'll find out from you!

I had SSRs for a little while. They are a fantastic tire. The soft compound really makes them grab onto anything. It does however reduce the miles that can be gotten out of them on the road.

My buddy ran them on his f-150. The 35's held up great to road use. Aren't near as loud as other super swampers

We'll see how long they last. I got a rediculous amount of miles outta my Kumho's (~70k). I was debating whether to get the TSL radials or the SSR's. I wasn't sure I could pull the 36" TSL's so I went with the 35" SSR's. Not sure how they compare performance wise, but I figured I couldn't go wrong with a swamper.

I couldn't help myself so I headed to the shop and got the loader out. 34" with the front lifted and 40" with the rear at street pressure (35psi). I was hoping for more, but looking at the pics I'd say its not too bad.

Damnit I'm a poser, I WANNA GO WHEELIN!!!

Bray the rig is lookin like its ready to go!
You should try to make it to the badlands with me for zukimelt. Its July 10,11,12. Should be a good time. I usually meet up with 4 or 5 other rigs for the weekend and theres also just tons of other people there so you're not running the trails alone.

I might be up for a shakedown run before then though, let me know. I just need to install my front locker, and tinker with the brakes.

I'm definitely down for some wheelin this summer. Hopefully there will be less maintenance/tinkering with the new front end so I can do some more wheelin. We'll see about the melt, dunno if I could handle all those Zukes running around. haha j/k, my g/f would love it though, she wants me to build her a sammy...

Thanks!

Took it out in the woods this weekend. No pics or vid. I think everyone out there had a camera but noone wanted to take pics lol. Wasn't holding much back. It met all my expectations. It was pretty soupy in some spots and I never got stuck. Had the SSR's at 10psi, and they were barely even squating. I couldn't hardly take my Kumho's lower than 15-18 and they were flat due to their super weak sidwalls. I'm likin the tires so far :icon_thumby:

I aquired some damage as well, couple scrapes and a decent dent in my tailgate. Slid backward down a hill and smoked a tree, thought my bumper took the hit but it looks like my tailgate did. Also, my doubler was leaking like a siv. Had to leave early. It looks to be coming from two mating plates, so hopefully that's all it is. I'm going to rebuild it this weekend and I hope I don't find anything more serious.

Well I got to bench press the doubler once again this weekend. I'm not sure what caused it to start leaking so bad. I checked to see if my front driveshaft was a touch too long, but I lifted the front of the truck by the bumpstops and I've still got right around an inch of spline showing in the slip joint. Dropped it down to full droop for fun and I've got just over an inch and a half of splines still engaged.

Anyways here she is, I'm about 200 miles short of having 15k on it. I don't plan to have it outta my truck again unless it starts to leak, again.

note - not all hardware is shown

and all sealed up again

I used Permatex Right Stuff this time instead of the red high-temp RTV I've been using. Seems to work pretty good, and is ready for use immediately (don't have to wait for it to cure).

Went out and beat on the ranger a bit this weekend. I wish my gf was more into photography haha. Anyways heres the few pics we did get.
