daily doubler build

The factory full size F150 buckets. Chopped the bottom 2 holes off to drop the buckets down a bit, but I'm still using the original 2 upper holes. It should be sitting against my frame just as it was on the full size rig it came off of.

Why not just go to eb buckets? Hell I just sold a pair on the cheap. I have a frame here with the buckets still welded on it.

Are they any different?

My driver's side bucket has the trac bar mount integrated into it. It would take a little time to reproduce. I was just gonna slice a wedge out of the buckets just under where the coil seats with a cutoff wheel, knock them into position, weld em up, and plate it.

Same as the axle I assume (I got the D44, 9", and coil buckets from the same guy) so, 79?

They have to angle away from the frame to clear the infamous "frame bump". I still had to massage it a bit to get it to sit on the frame without the bump interference.

Ah yes the frame bump.

Hey fyi we are gonna be back to Attica April 7-10, Looks like Kyle M. will be along as well. Well atleast if I can get the new build done by then.

Right on. Kyle sent me a PM. Is that the weekend of the first TREC race? If so, my crew will be there as well. I can't commit to anything yet. We'll have to see how things pan out.

I didn't notice if it was or wasn't same as the trec race. I think its April 2.

I skimmed the build thread as its been to long since I last peeked in, but I'll be honest I skimmed looking at pics not reading lol. Did you ever do anything about the rear axle wrap and a rear locker?

haha I did the same thing the other night. Pics are fun.

Nothing regarding axle wrap or a locker as of yet. Probably won't lock it unless I decide to run a different gear.

I've got the material to build an anti wrap bar, just haven't done it yet.

edit: Found the trec race schedule. First race on April 2. hmm.

Stopped by the junkyard again today and put some money down on an engine. Said he'd have one pulled for me by Monday. I asked him to make sure it would be a good running engine, cause I'd be PISSED if I swapped it in and it didn't run for shit. He said join the club haha. Guaranteed it would be a good motor, with 100k - 120k miles. Complete engine for 300 bucks. Perfect.

I hope to have it back on the road by my birthday at the latest (March 9). Let the games begin.
