This morning I got up early and heading to the fire hall to meet up with a few members to go to a house burning. it was a controlled burn and was done very safely so it was very interesting thing to see.

I got to watch a trailer be used for a practice burn once, that was pretty cool. They fought it back a couple times then just sat down on the lawn an traded jokes about forgetting the marshmellows and hot-dogs, lol.

i saw a trailer burn once...but not on purpose.

I was driving through a really small town in northeastern oklahoma...like the kind of town without even a gas station, and their town hall is a one room shack with a card table as a desk for the lady to collect traffic fines.

Anyway, driving by, first to see it and call 911...in an amazing feat of irony it turns out the house belonged to a volunteer firefighter and MAYOR of the town.

2 years later, it's still there. He just moved it over and set a new one next to it.

I saw a Heavy equipment transporter and trailer burn to the ground just south of balad, Iraq the new bullet proof magnesium looks like lava when it burns pretty sweet though... i couldnt find any of the pictures of the one im talking about but i had this one of another one that slightly burned down.

it would of been of something if you drove by and seen all the firefighters just chilling taking pictures talking and watching it burn. some body called it in but the department was already there for an hour before the call. haha ha

My brother got a call a while back,
A lady said her lawnmower was on fire..... all the guys at the fire-dept made a pot of coffee, passed around some breakfast donuts.... put on their gear.

Ambled up to the address, and HOLY SH!t, THE LAWNMOWER WAS IN HER GARAGE ATTACHED TO THE HOUSE
If you ever call in something to the fire dept, just remember to stress the severity. Volunteer fire-fighters have jobs... and gf's, and apparantly a strong need for coffee, donuts, dirty jokes, and cigarettes like everybody else.

Magnesium burns like there's no tomorrow, intensely hot and furiously. I can't see it being used as armor on military vehicles.

wow fire is awesome!!

this was pretty sweet to watch because there was no lost of a families home and no one was injured. it cool to watch a house burn and see how it burns.

Those guys deserve to be kicked off, and have whatever credentials or licenses that relate to FF or EMT taken away from them.

Joking around or not, there's no excuse for that.

Well... Aluminum will burn... and IIRC it's use for the armor on Bradley APCs....
