Howdy, everyone. The other day I replaced my spark plugs and as I was pulling cylinder 4 plug I immediately noticed the white flaky substance coating it. (See pictures below) I’m afraid to believe it, but coolant is the only logical explanation I know of. This leads me to believe I may have a head gasket leak. The fact that it was only one cylinder gives me some relief, but still concerns me. After all there shouldn’t be coolant in the combustion chamber under any circumstances. to throw another wrench into the works, it’s quite possible I confused cylinder 4 with cylinder 6 after I took it out. I can’t remember if I took it out of the back of the engine or the front, but I know for certain it was 4 or 6. What do y’all think, any other explanation?

Burning coolant usually steam cleans a plug.

That looks more like that cylinder is burning hotter then the others....maybe lean.

Im not great at reading plugs though.
