So just for the hell of it, I'm wondering if there is a lot involved with converting to manual. I already have the Explorer tranny in and have the adapter for the Ranger transfer case but I would really like to have a five speed. I heard that the tranny from the 4.2 F150 fits perfect but what about adding the pedal, booster and lines? Is it a PITA to do?

Pedals are easy to put in. slave cylinder probably has a hole for it in the fire wall already just fell under the brake booster for bolt holes and a grommet. transmission and related parts, ecm needs flashed if using a exploder computer for so it isnt looking for an automatic transmission. Also you will have to figure out the wiring for the neutral safety/clutch position switch. Probably can get an existing harness from a junk yard For your year truck.
