I'm installing a new clutch master and slave on my 1993 ford ranger xlt. I'm totally stumped on how to remove the clutch push rod from my pedal? Hoping somebody knows how? :)

Thanks guys!

Insert a large flat blade screw driver between the rod and pedal and then twist.

so put the screw driver between the the rod and the pedal on the passenger side or driver side?

I don't remember too much except that I was upside at the time. What ever way can get in there with the screwdriver and pry the pushrod off . Be gentle.

I got it! that worked, just put a flat head between the push rod and the pedal and twisted, came right off :) thanks guys

There is a little four pronged retainer that BREAKS when you do this

truth be told there is no practical way to remove it without breaking it.

But the new clutch master cylinder is supposed to come with a new one.
