Clutch might be bad?

Hey guys,
I have had an ongoing problem with the hydraulics system on my clutch, Im not exactly sure if it is time for a new clutch slave and lines or brand new clutch. I drive a 1991 extended cab 4x4 electronic shift with a manual mr0d-r1 transmission also 158k on everything. I engage the clutch to the floor and the truck stays in gear and is very hard to pull the shifter out of gear. So my thought is the the clutch is not releasing all the way. I have bled the clutch multiple times and it is not better at all. The clutch that is in there is somewhat brand new about 2 years old. Sometimes I also have a very hard time putting the truck in 1st at a stop, with the clutch engaged. Does anyone have any suggestions? Im am on the verge of ripping the whole damn thing out and getting a new trans and rebuilding it :annoyed: Thanks for any posts

does it loose clutch fluid? really sounds like its not bleed all the way there a pain to bleed. get the front end up as high as you can and put something like block of wood to hold clutch down and crack the bleeder and let it sit for a while and go from there if that does not help i would think the slave cylinder is bad.

if you didn't replace the slave when you did the clutch, it probably bad. whenever the tranny is out of a ranger its a good idea to change the slave if its over 3 years old.

My 2003 Ranger was doing the same thing, slave cylinder was leaking (I noted a small amount of what I thought was transmission oil on the bottom of the tranny, turns out it was hydraulic fluid from the slave cylinder). Replaced the pressure plate, friction disk, pilot bearing, throwout bearing and resurfaced the flywheel at the same time (paid to have it done, did not have the time nor the tools while I was on leave). Shifts like the day I bought it now.

Nope I dont lose fluid at all, but there is a mysterious substance plastering the underside of my tranny, Im pretty sure it may be the rear seal, but thats a whole nother project. Ill try bleeding it again and if that doesnt work its coming out and gettin all new innards:headbang: Thanks for the advice guys
