Clutch Cable slack??

OK - the procedure there is WAY too complicated for what you need to do. Just run a clear hose from the bleed valve (make sure it fits well) to the master reservoir and secure it so it stays immersed in the fluid. Open the valve. Push the piston on the master cylinder in and out repeatedly until all the air has flowed from the master to the slave and back up the clear hose. When you're convinced that there's no more air in the system, slide back under the truck and close the valve. If the piston now has significant resistance, you've probably fixed the problem. If not, go buy a new one and swap it in.

Cool. Sounds easy enough. Hopefully this weekend I'll pull the MC and give it a go. Man, I'll be pretty freaking happy if this solves my problem. Is the MC easy enough to pull? I haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

Thanks for all your help.

It is very easy.

You will see the brake MC/booster, and right below/ off to the side of it, will be the clutch MC, with a line going from the MC up to the clutch reservoir. I think it is only 2 (maybe 3) bolts to unbolt the MC. Then you just have to slide it away from the firewall, like fastpakr said. The clutch pedal will move down (like you were to depress it) as you pull the MC out, but that is just because they are connected to one-another.

If you haven't looked under the hood yet, then I think the whole thing will make more sense once you have. It really isn't too complicated.

Awesome. I haven't really spent a lot of time under the hood or wrenching on it. I've been spending lots of time fixing my Jeep so it's drivable.

After I pull it off and get it inverted, then I'll pump the piston and (hopefully) work the air out of the system.

When I disco the MC from the reservoir will it leak, or is it one of those sealing connections?

Edit: I went out and poked around some more. The little reservoir that's bolted to the driver's side of the engine compartment is dry. It has residue of brake fluid, but none in that reservoir. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's probably the problem. I want to apologize for being such a n00b with this system.

Alright. I went out and fooled around with it some. I found the clutch bleeder valve and started bleeding some of the fluid out.

So I filled the reservoir up then cracked the bleeder valve and drained some fluid into the tube. Of course, I started with the fish tank hose from wal-mart. It's too flimsy to fit over the bleeder nipple. I ended up getting a 2' section of fuel line from Advance Auto. It fit really well, but it was kind of short.

I couldn't tell if there was any air coming out since I couldn't extend the hose all the way to the water bottle (with DOT3) in it and screw and unscrew the bleeder nipple while keeping it all together.

I ended up spilling fluid all over my arm and everything. I haven't figured out how to pull the MC yet.

This is so frustrating. There's a dent on the underside of the body. I think I know how it got there. The PO got mad trying to bleed it and hit it. That's what I did. :annoyed:
