CITY DOES NOT LIKE MY RANGER

Most towns have ordinances about inoperable and uninspected uninsured vehicles on your property. Where I live it's okay if they're covered and off the street.
I'm not sure how a tarp would look better than my truck? lol

I'd like to see just how bad this truck is if his neighbors are calling the cops on him. That wouldn't fly around here.... Half the cars on the road around here are clunkers and couldn't pass an emissions test if they were 10 years newer lol.
Its the truck pic that is my avatar

That sucks you have to pay. Keep us updated on the progress.
Its been raining and snowing right now. I thought about towing it to a shop just to get it running. I figured paying the city would give me enough time to swap it. I was thinking its counter productive to get it running just to take it apart. I paid and have 90 days. lol I guess that will get me off my ass. I was going to just put old tranny back in to hurry and thought no so I got a hold of a rebuild shop and they said about 900. and should handle 33" tires and at least 350hp. Its a daily driver anyway not going drag racing.

The crank sensor is the easiest thing to fix and it's what I'd do first. We have the same exact truck but I carb'd mine. The crank position sensor takes 4 wires as far as I know. If it is burned before the connector on the sensor side, it's a bit annoying to swap the whole assembly but not nearly as hard as an engine swap - think day-project vs. a month or two. You'll need to take off the serpentine belt and pull the harmonic balancer to get at the sensor. Should be 2 screws from there. Tie a string to the end of the old one if you can reach it, easier to pull the new wire thru that way. If the damage is on the wiring harness itself, pick up some heat-shrink crimp connectors and a 4-color pack of wire. Match the colors on each side for best results. Grab some electrician's tape and wire wrap for a professional finish.

I never want to discourage any member from building their dream truck! I'd fix the sensor first so you can move it around and tell that cop to go to hell. Cheaper than the tow or tickets & gives you the chance to save up and get the hardware for your build. Oh, also -- forgive thy neighbor :)

I replaced the sender, computer, flywheel, pressure plate, clutch, when I found problem in the wiring harness. Before that the head was redone because exhaust seats sunk. I replaced the injectors, fuel pump was bad so put a new one in. front end was replaced before that. It has 373 gears but have a 7.5 with 410 gears and also a 8.8 that needs re assembled with 410 gears and the flip kit welded on.lol I'm probably forgetting sone stuff. por 15 the floors and put sound proofing in.

:unsure:My dream truck is a 70 elcamino built to haul ass in a quarter mile. Second would be an old 50-60 ford truck on 33" with 4x4.

I'd rather not have to deal with points. Give me a early to mid 70's Crew Cab Highboy 4X4.

I have a 4-bolt main 350 block & torquey marine heads for ya

Try points in a boat. Got to know the river patrol pretty good and I still have a clean record ? hence the 350 block...

Well I had 2 days left on my special permit. They can kiss my ass...

that's a well "seasoned" garage, looks great!

pull it back out for a few minutes every week, just to piss off the neighbor who complained.
