I actually like Chevy ALOT better than dodge/chrysler. There isn't a dodge for sale in my area that has the original trans. And a few on craigslist have new motors when the originals didn't even have 100k on them.

We have a 1996 Dodge ram 1500, 219xxxmiles on the original transmission. And it was worked to death during that time. We had some issues with it not wanting to shift but they worked themselves out.

85 nissan pu -loved it (was t boned)
86 nissan pu -loved it (blown head gasket body was rusted out)
84 d-150 dodge- liked it (devloped bad electrical problem)
79 chevy pu -ok with it (sold to a buddy blew up engine 2 mo later)
93 ranger -loved it bought it in 2006 and still own

i liked them all. i am kinda partial to fords but the nissans, and the ranger were the easiest to work on. and thus my favorite trucks. only thing i hate on my ranger is how short the cab is for my 6 ft frame, oh and the damn blend door

the dodge was a mule, stubborn as hell, ate carburetors like candy. in the end i couldnt figure out a electrical grimlin

I think its partly just men being men, but i do agree that chevy guys seem a bit worse about it than other guys. I come from a chevy family and so far have only converted one cousin. the rest of the family gives us shit for owning fords, but as said above, they are constantly working on their shit, where my cousin and I aren't.
