CCW..wow and people wonder why I don't

So you want someone to meet deadly force with non leathal force? Pepper spray, burns for just a split sec, but with enough adrenaline you are shot, taser, about the same...

You are such a puss. You are probably one of those that think they can get in a knife fight and not get cut....

You obviously have not trained with Pepper spray. You just don't stand there and spray their hand standing in one spot, NO!,:icon_surprised: YOU ARE GOING TO AIM FOR THE FACE, and with INERT units for training, you should be a good shot, you aim for the face, you want to get in in their eyes, in their nose down their throat, and you are going to be quickly closing distance, moving around so he won't know where you are, after 10 seconds they will not want to fight anymore, for the next twenty minutes they won't hardly know their name, the nose is going to swell up, the mucus membranes are really affected, the eyes are going to shut, your breathing will be near survival breathing.

...and god forbid if they can't find some water to start dunking their flaming red hot face in! They will be greatly incapacitated... it will stop them from committing the felonious act.

It is non lethal, does NOT cause any permanent damage, it is painful, but 24 hrs from when they were sprayed, they will be good as new.

It is effective, it's legal almost anywhere, it is affordable, portable and very P.C.

So what if you get shot, the chances are they will miss, as they attempt to cover their face with their hands.

You don't have to meet deadly force with deadly force, in fact it is better that you don't escalate the situation.

The gun has it's place, it's just not the be-all-end-all of self defense... and you better do training with your tools. The most dangerous person is one who is unskilled with a dangerous weapon!

I wish Federal law would overturn all of these stupid state laws regarding carry and make it legal for anyone with a permit to carry outside of their home and car.

**** federal law The Feds have not done shit for us.. Take a look at AZ's new laws..

Personally i carry all the time unless otherwise posted..

Its legal to open carry nearly everywhere, we have no wait time to purchase guns or ammo and no caps on the like.

Thanks Elsie! (if yall know who elsie is..)

Ok, puss, hmmmm, maybe we can find out one day. You dont have to see or anything to spray bullets jack ass

It depends on the scenario dude. If you're unlucky, he'd come across you in the middle of pulling your piece, and you'd be shot dead, and he'd still get your gun.The most important factor in committing a robbery is the element of surprise, and CC doesn't address that. CC only serves to escalate the weapons arms race and ensures a larger pool of weapons for the crooks as the theif takes your gun and robs you.

I was the victim of one of the above mentioned crimes. I was the woman beaten bloody at 12 noon and then robbed in Forest Park. He was out of his car with his gun to my head so fast I wouldn't have been able to react. It IS the element of surprise. He immediately hit me with it, put it to my head, made me crawl into the alley, then continued to beat and rob me. I do want to carry a handgun now due to the fear, but it wouldn't have helped this time unless it was already out and cocked.

Spray and Pray, The Substitute for Strategic Planning. I have seen lots of shooting videos. And in them, the participants do not aim. They just point their guns towards the other and blast away.

What is defaulted to is instinctive or Spray and Pray shooting. In a real armed confrontation, you can kiss 50% of your concentration goodbye. The recognized miss rate in armed encounters, is over 80%.

Or to put another way...

The second ammendment has nothing to do with Hunting or self defense.

The second amendment is about the founding fathers not trusting the
people would come after them, and because they didn't trust future
elected officials it was their way of saying: "Obey the constitution or
the PEOPLE will pop a cap in your ass and give your job to someone
who will"

As for the japanese NOT invading the mainland US
the Japanese army wanted to, they (Stupidly) believed
they could pull it off, their naval commander, Isoroku Yamamoto
was present at the cabinet meeting where an invasion was proposed
and his comment (allegedly stated in an acid voice filled with contempt)
"You cannot invade the Mainland U.S. because there will be a rifle behind
every blade of grass!
"

Look at what a mix of hungry unsupplied marines and civilian
construction workers did to repel the first japanese attempt to
invade Wake island... Now imagine instead several thousand
deer hunters hunting invading troops in the pacific northwest
(the Japanese wanted to inade along the oregon/washington
coastline)

I can imagine the title of the book that would have been written after the war...
"The army that simply vanished"

AD
:agree: "The army that simply vanished" I love it:icon_rofl:

Ok, so even if I spray him with mace he can still spray bullets and have a 20% chance of killing my daughter, me, or my girlfriend, and since I shouldn't carry my gun I would have no way to stop him/ her, sounds like a liberal thinking to me.

I disagree.

I think you should have a Gun within 500 feet of you at ALL TIMES. This means in your vehicle. A pistol at least on a tactical vest in a "case".

I think that if you feel that way, you need to move somewhere that doesn't make you feel that way.

If you whip out your peice to counter somebody that is coming at you with a gun... you probably won't fair any better than somebody with mace. Either way with a semi auto he could get a couple shots off before you clear the holster.

I think that if you feel that way, you need to move somewhere that doesn't make you feel that way.

I disagree... you should always have a gun near you, and you should always have some sort of a grab and go carry method, whether it be vest or belt, with a weapon, spare ammunition, knife, flashlight, etc... you never know if you'll need to grab stuff and go.

I can't see a realistic reason why.

And if something big did go down, a puny pistol is the last thing I would reach for.

I got guns... I've got an MP5 out in my Navajo, along with a revolver in the center console. Right here I've got my Beretta. I also have a duffel bag full of ~500 rounds of .40 for the Beretta and a few hundred of .22lr for my rifle, and 150 rounds of 9mm. Along with a dresser drawer full of assorted ammunition, pyrodex, caps, lead, spare parts, mags.....

I've got a nice horsehide IWB holster that can conceal my Beretta against my 6' 215lb frame - it's pretty slick. No open carry holster though.

Congratulations on making that stupid woman lose her job, I HATE those people and don't even have kids!

Well lets see... Social Collapse would be the major one... and in most situations, you're better off with a compact weapon... you aren't going to be trying to make hits over 100 yards, because in most situations, stealth is the best thing to go with...

Pistols ain't "puny" either... I bet you wouldn't like to get shot with one? Prolly wouldn't feel too good eh?

Police carry guns on duty all the time, why? Because they never know when something is going to happen, that is the EXACT reason why people should have firearms within reach at all times... somebody invades your home... hmm, your firearms are locked in a safe... too bad you didn't have something loaded and ready to go right next to you... and hopefully you're smart enough to have the doors locked so you can hear someone if they try to break in...

Believe me, there are MANY realistic situations where you should have a weapon at the ready... its not a matter of IF they're going to happen, its WHEN.

Just like the person above, I hope you don't think that the police will be there to protect you 24/7, cause they won't be...

Its all a matter of having something ready, because you never know what is to come.

My shotgun (first weapon of choice) is kept in my bedroom. A pistol won't touch it for home defence... and I know for a fact that with the slug barrel on killing a deer (that have a lot more drive to survive than a person) is nothing for it. It is the multitool of the gun world.

Here in the sticks... big deal on social collapse. I drive home less than 2 miles from work and there is my arsonal, like a 3 minute trip doing the speed limit.

Police/military also go looking for trouble on a daily basis, something I don't really try to do. Even then, it is a big deal for the city cops to ever use their weaopns, maybe once every 2 years.

WRONG WRONG WRONG

Shotguns do not have NEAR the stopping power most people think they do. Hell, 00 buck will barely kill a decent sized cat. People think they are powerful since they kick and have a large barrel, but the people that have actually had their lives depend on it or been hunting and accidentally pissed off dangerous game know better. A decent caliber pistol is much more effective in causing damage. Slugs on the other hand, they can put out some serious hurtin'.
