CCW..wow and people wonder why I don't

Looked at glocks, but they are soo big, note there is no gun store around here that will let you fire a gun. Heck our first indoor shooting range opened about 2 weeks ago, but he also doesn't have any available to shoot.

Honestly, find some other place to go then, get on the internet and search for shops or ranges that let you shoot guns... Even if they're a hundred miles away, shooting the guns is the best way to know whether they will work for you or not.

Ok, speaking of carrying guns, I carried mine for over 11 hrs the other day. Gets really heavy, even my sub compact taurus PT 24/7 pro .45 acp. I am looking at the ruger LCR, or at the pawn shop there is a springfield 9mm compact, any suggestions?

The Taurus you carry is a lil heavy.. in the same respect thats why i dont carry my beretta 92fs.. as far a suggestions go, i carry a lcp every day all day.. the lcr is nice but damn its pricey.

That's a little different. I hear so much about people buying a shotgun as their first firearm for home defense, and they expect it'll blow a person clear through a wall. If it makes you feel better, I WAS drinking last night. But I still say shotguns are very ineffective unless they have slugs.

They are just not loading them correctly! A guitar or piano string with fishing weights attached every 6" or so... What!? Where am I... Oh, yea.

People buy shotguns for home defense because, at close range, they make devistating wounds and don't penetrate walls to kill your neighbors. I think the idea is use a shotgun for the pure intimidation factor and decrease the amount of colateral damage.

I was pretty impressed with my 12 when I cooked a slug through a dry, hard, 13" diameter stump. Penetration was awesome!

Glocks aren't that big. I carry a Glock 36 almost every day. I have smaller weapons, including a Kel Tec P-11. I still preferr the Glock. To each his own.
