I found a holley 4010 4b and a edelbrock Victor Jr. intake. Is this too much for a stock 302? Im running a holley 350cfm 2b now and its messing up.

I ran a little 450 cfm spread bore on a Holley intake with no problems on a stock 302 but stepping up to a 600 is going to cause problems. I'd say find the problem with the carb you have now.
Dave

The primaries on the holley are smaller than the two barrel you have on there now, so as long as the secondaries are vacuum operated and do not open too early you should be in good shape.

The Vic Jr is too much for your motor. The carb will be OK if used on a lowrise dual plane (Edelbrock Performer, a Weiand Action Plus, the 83-85 stock Ford 4 bbl Mustang intake, or a 60's iron 4 bbl 289/302 intake)

I know where I can get some sort of stock 4b intake. not sure what vehicle it was from but its for a 302. What would happen if I ran the victor jr intake on the stock 302

An intake like the Victor is for high revving race applications. Going to a lower rise intake will keep it from bogging badly at lower rpms. A highrise intake like that creates all kinds of drivability issues at usuable lower rpms.

Well considerin I have a heavy foot what will happen if I used it? I think it said it was rated for 3500-8500. That sound right? My truck runs at about 2000rpms or so when it kicks into over drive. Im not sure what it is out of over drive.

it all depends on your motor... i had a stock mustang 5.0 with a B303 cam, victor intake and a 650 dbl pmpr, the maverick it was in would run 8.50's in the 1/8th! a little rich, but the car would fly... also had a 2200 rpm stall.

Go with a dual plane intake, edelbrock 600 cfm. Will be easy to tune.

I have the chance to get the intake and carb for $200 so.... Im trying to do this as cheap as possible so if and when I finally get it sold I wont be out of a good chunk of money.

What will happen is exactly what red85 already posted. It's gonna bog till the engine hits about 3500-4000 rpms. It will have zero power untill that point is reached. A low rise dual plane is what you want for your combo. Stock motor, big tires? you want all the bottom end you can get.

A used Vic Jr is only worth about $100. So you're buying a used Holley 4010 for $100, hardly a good deal, unless the carb is fairly new and fresh.

get it and drive the hell out of it .. just stay in a lower gear haha

Okay then.. Anybody on here good with carbs that I could ship mine to and let them rebuild it? I cant for the life of me figure out whats wrong with it

I'm running a 600 cfm edlebrock carb and a performer 289 intake on mine, and it runs perfectly, it has a mild cam and headers, thats bout it for internal upgrades though. I recommend edlebrock carbs, i never had to adjust anything on them, just throw them on and start em up! :D
