Carb and Intake???

Okay how abouts this? I was at the JY the other day and saw a stock 4b manifold from a 302. Dunno what it came off but it was a 4b. All I needed to know. I found a Proform Racing 750 double pumper. Im assuming that all carbs have the same bolt pattern on them? So would the low rise stock manifold work with this carb and do okay on my truck?

yes the intake will work.
yes all square flenge carbs have the same mounting pattern.
NO i wouldnt use that big of a carb... the 650 i had was actually too big.

How about if I adjusted the manual linkage so the secondaries only kicked in if I gagged on it real hard? So basically turning a 4b into a 2b

Okay then.. Anybody on here good with carbs that I could ship mine to and let them rebuild it? I cant for the life of me figure out whats wrong with it

First off, why are you running a 350 cfm 2 bbl on a 347? What brand carb is it ? What have you done as far as ignition? What ignition system are you running ? I can rebuild it if it's a Holley, but first you need to be certain that the carb is the problem.

750dp, might be ok on a snortin strip motor 347, but a daily driver/truck motor not the best of ideals. going to run rich as crap.and end up washing fuel past the rings and shorten eng life.

get somethign in the 600-650 range vacum 2nds. you will be much happier in the long run.

The stock 4 bbl intake will work (if that's what it is) but as the others have posted, that Proform 750 is WAY too big. And you cannot adjust a mech secondary linkage to alter the secondary opening.

None of this is talking about my 347. This is on the stock 302 in my other ranger, The one I have on here tryin to sell. Can I send it to you and let you go through it? I cannot find a rebuild kit anywhere on the internet for it. Not even on holleys website.

Ok, glad you cleared that up. Your sig says you had a 302 but now a 347. The kit you need ? Summit Racing has it, part #37-1543. It was something like $30 for the kit. These things are really easy to rebuild, all you need to do is pay attention to what came from where and how it was installed. The main T/B to base plate gasket needs to be paid attention too as far as how it's installed as well as the metering block and bowl gaskets. And make sure all the tiny passages are free and clear of dirt or trash. If you don't think you can handle it, send it too me and I'll do it. But first, what ignition system are you running, and how's the timing set ?

I have the timing set about +2* with an MSD cap and rotor with an accel coil. No duraspark or fancy stuff. Was a cheapo when I set it up on this truck. Holley lists my carb as a 0-7448. I couldnt find the kit so I gave up. If you could pm me with address and price for completely rebuilding the carb I would be most grateful and get it sent out ASAP

2 deg.? it should be at LEAST 10 deg. :icon_confused:

Im really not positive. It may have been higher. That was a guess. Havent got it running good enough yet to put the timing light on it.

cool, just remember... timing is free power! ive always cranked my timing up as high as the fuel i am using would allow.

I set it to where it started running bad and then backed up to where it was running fine and left it. Need to get the carb fixed and then get it sorted out.

Anybody happen to have a two barrel of four barrel carb thats in good shape they wanna sell?

whats your price range? i have a few laying around that came from a 302

Name what you got and we'll go from there. Less than $300. The cheaper the better
