can i run 40s

Stock d60's would be difficult to break in almost any vehicle. Once you upgrade them you have to try to break them.

Hence why I skipped the middle man and went right to the D60. Have a bling upgraded 44 or a stock D60 with the option to still better it....no brainer.

Cdawall, I'm not running this as a DD, and i never intended to go this big a tire, initially. Phase 3 is already in the works, a new frame and new axles. Once I get the new axles, the 60's are coming out and going under my Trac for DD use. Right now I'm running the michelin xl's...

Ohhhhh ive seen alot of breakage. (60's and rockwells)

Ive seen a BUILT pro rock 60 destroy a long and stub shaft, and get the ring and pinion all at once. Small light weight rig too, 3200# with a stock vortec 350, atlas 3:1 t-case and 38" stickies.
We were going up a waterfall, got in a spot we could only go about a foot forward or backwards. Finally he got pissed enough to stand on it, just as the rear tires came over the top, shotgun pop!!!!
Front tires were pointed straight too....

I got the privlage of pulling/winching him alllllllll the way to the trailer since i was in there "eggin him on" ! ! !

Dont think anything it "strong enough"!

Tell your buddy to fix this and he won't have issues anymore :D Let me clarify my earlier statement by saying if you drive SMART you should be ok.

Come to Clayton Okla wheeling and see if you theory still holds true.

Just saying s$!t happens, dont EVER think that its strong enough.

When in doubt throttle out. That's how I crushed my rockers...

Soon I'll have tons under the old girl and I will give it a try. And I'm going to run a stock d60 minus the gears.

I run 40s on a Dana 35 with Spicer u joints and havent broke a damn thing yet. its only a Ranger its not like they make any power unless you do a motor swap too. And it really depends on what and how you wheel

Man I run 40s on my truck and I beat on 'em pretty hard. It's pretty built though, I got a Dana 28 in front and a Ford 7.5 in the rear. I didn't want to cut fenders like a poser so I got a body lift.

Nah bro, got 5" custom toob body lift AND cut fenders
Point I was trying to make was its a stock frontend with half decent ujoints not napa junk shit, the 2.9 doesnt make enough power to break anything.
This is it, 3" body F-150 springs and hacked out fenders, built to go out play not sit home and pay
