can i run 40s

depends like always.

thornbirds are awesome in rutty mudruns that pop up on the trails which have mostly sand around here and loam in the holes and last twice as long as regular tsl on the road even tsl radial.. most of mi you can get by ok from what i have seen.

so they are slightly quieter, and last longer...

for what i do i would not buy a new set, but would not necessarily pass a good deal on a used set either. but i cover alot of ground.QUOTE]

This is most of the reason I bought them, was a wicked deal on them, $350 for 3/4 tread tires and i was broke on bald tires, they're wearing pretty decent on the road, and anyone who says they dont clean out well has never seen them spin. I've had amazing luck in the mud with them and thats 80% of whats up here

Lord and baby jesus!!!!!
That explains why he never breaks his d35.....

Explain this?

Thornbirds are superhard (no traction).

If they thought that they cant read worth a shit. Truck on 40s has grooved TSLs on it

like said repeatedly the main con is the harder compound if your on solid trail stuff.

scooter would never want them for what he is doing, but i could get away with them.

different latitudes promote different attitudes.

fair enough.

Gonna put full size axles under my 98 extended cab 4.0 5 speed was wondering what gears would be needed to run the 40's that come with the rear axle I am going to buy any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks a lot for your sincerity and if I wanted you to answer what I'm planning on for suspension or how I plan to steer it I would have asked the start to this build is a long ways off just starting to gather info I guess you were born knowing everything though so its cool

direct conversation is always better then wasting your time to SEARCH 400 posts of nothing to 10 posts of relevant information in old threads. its difficult at times to be fair about things when explaining what seems obvious to ones self from actual experience.... tactics and knowledge to execution of said tactics/knowledge are always relative in my eyes to varied degrees due to the nature of custom builds. suggested application trumps cookie cutter imo.

getting the basics itself means just exactly what anyway?

Yes, well kinda.....

When you search, you get a broad range of build ups, from different parts of the country doing different terrain.
No one can/should tell you what you should build. I looked at 100's of sas builds before i even had a bronco to sas!

I found certain things about certian builds, then either PM'ed or bumped old build threads to ask very direct questions.

If you look at my 1/2ton sas you can prolly pick alot of it and see other peoples stuff off mine. I copied what i liked, didnt what i didnt like.

But i never once asked a general question like "what year of ford 60 should i get?". That info is searched out very easily.
