Can I get some advice on subs

you might also want to check out memphis s-class subs. might be able to pick one up at a local dealer for around $150 and theyll be superior to what you have listed

if I go under the recommended enclosure volume will i be losing out on a lot of bass. I found an enclosure which is .80 cu ft, but the sub i want requires .88 cu ft. Would that be too much of a difference?

add a pound of polyfill to the enclosure and youll be fine.

If you want to get some good bass i'd recommend 2 Kicker L5 or L7 10" Subs. I had 1 in my 87 F150 Explorer and i had it up so loud all the time and it never even came close to blowing. These are tuff little subs, but i'm afraid you'll probably have to pay a good amount for them. I think the L7's are the newer model, i had a L5 and i was very pleased...i also think the L7 is a little more durable and pricy. 2 L7's and a good 1000W amp and i bet it would be more bass than you need....

I was thinking about that poly fiber thingy when all of a sudden i stumbled upon this...

Should be a good fit, but is Scosche a good brand? Aren't they Wal-mart quality or no?

i would buy it up if it will fit your applications (air space requirements) and fit your truck.

Thanks thats all i needed, im going to double check my measurements and ima go with it. ill let everyone know when i get it and how it ends up.

thanks again for everyones help, :D

i had a memphis pr 10 in a memphis box built to specs and it was getting 300 rms and sounded good. not heart throbbing bass but it was a nice fill in.

You think this one would be better than the one I posted up?

I could add my own stuffing if i needed right? What is it exactly, polyester cloth? Could i use that dacron (the cloth that's used to keep the fiberglass rough after it dries and hardens) stuff?

I was going to buy the stuff tonight, but i might as well hold off until monday since they wont ship out until the first business day, that'll give everyone enough time to give me any other links and suggestions :icon_idea: :icon_cheers:

I just trust that company more than people one ebay, I buy all my wiring components from them and have never had an issue.
