California banning "high" rolling resistant tires

I didn't and don't want to read the article. Did they even mention air pressure and its effects. I've seen people drive around on the road on tires with about 5 psi in them, totally oblivious to fuel mileage, handling, safety and tire damage issues.

I didn't read it either. I'm tired of hearing about Cali's BS as well. I saw this on another forum.

I'm actually surprised that Cali hasn't implemented a yearly safety inspection as well as their bi annual smog checks. They could pull more BS and mandate tire pressure monitoring systems on all vehicles.

Don’t give them any more ideas

I would bet a large amount of money that it's physically impossible to save $20 a month driving the same distance on tires of the same dimensions inflated to the same pressure. Maybe if you drive 10,000 miles a month.
Oh, I agree completely, hence my comment about exaggerated numbers. I was just using the numbers that they provided. Typical sham marketing.

People look at the flashy numbers and free stuff, but ignore the details. That's why Cali has gone to shit, and the rest of the country is chasing it.

You'll save $79 (over 3 months) in the first phase. You'll save $159 (over 7 months) in the second phase. All the people see is save 79 and 153. They don't do the math.

79/4=~20/mo
153/7=~22/mo

They don't pay attention to the fast that the available tire selection get smaller and more expensive each time. They actively ignore the fact that the cheapest available set of tires increases ~800-1000.

Like the average "diet" food option. "Half as much fat* (* per serving) as the leading competitor and 10 % cheaper." Read the nutrition labels and their serving size is half the size of the leading competitor with the same number of servings per package. You know people are going to eat the same serving size regardless of the label. Instead of getting a healthier option at the same price, they are getting the same product at near double the price, and they are proud of it.

These are the people that we let vote for who runs the country.

Sorry stupid stuff like this bets me riled up more than I should let it.

I'm a california native, and to this uuuggghhh!!! I will keep this political free..

That idiot in Sacramento who has made world news to show the idiot he is aka king rat the greasy..

As he and his carb diet..meaning all the dough they have stole from us in taxes and this stupid crap has us who are still extremely furious and some left fast..did..those who cannot as myself are fed up with it.

These tires being banned is not for safety of anykind..its a money grab to reach further into our pockets and force us into ev's...they want older cars off the roads. Those tires they want gone is stupid, not everyone afford fancy tires. Car culture started in southern California where I'm from.

They want tires to be more carb approved..they will cost more, and they are wanting other states to follow...again its a huge grab..not for safety of anykind. They truly wanted to clean the california environment..clean up all the dump cities aka skid row in Los Angeles..do you honestly believe crap, urine, used needles are good for the environment..NO!!!

Those safety inspections have been a thing up and down here..who knows.

We shall see what happens in the future.

1984 and WALL-E foretold all of this. Sad state of affairs.
