Buy a ranger project or save for a house?

what should I do? I like to here peoples opinions, dont hold back.

Its a 1994 splash 4.0 5 speed regular cab stepside in great shape with 150,000 miles

Id do gears, skyjacker lift and wheels and tires.

thank you

House. Save as much money as you can and borrow as little as possible for a house. Houses appreciate in value and build equity. Rangers do not.

Also, I'd probably not post this in Urgent Help. It may seem urgent to you, but it really isn't.

Get a house, get out of debt, get some money saved for retirement.

Once you don't owe anyone anything you will have lots of money to build any Ranger you want.

And this kind of thread will see more traffic in Gen Discussion.

yes, yes and yes.

House, House, House! You might find the perfect truck for $2000 and in ten years the same truck might be valued at $4000. Compare that to what a house will grow in value. You might buy a house for $100K but the end price is $250K+. Save and get that down payment down. Mortgage rates are super low now but how knows the future.

House for sure. I wanted to get a mustang project, found a real good one. But it's better to save, and buy a house before starting into a project vehicle. As projects take lots of money, and time.

Save money for a house, toys can be purchased later. If I was in a position to be asking myself that I'd definitely go for a house before a toy.

Houses cost TONS later, Rangers get cheaper later.... house, house, house, plain and simple.

do NOT go down the lending lane, (morgage is ok, BUT, no credit cards, you will in the end pay 3 to 7 times what you originally bought, if bought on credit cards........... (Been there, done that.)).

Seriously? Save for a house. You would be stupid to waste it on a ranger that only loses value as it ages.

Buy a house you can afford. If you can't buy it on a 15 year note it's out of your budget.

And another vote for a house.

Get a house with enough garage space to work on a future Ranger project.

Look at it this way, eventually you will pay the house off, and basically you will be living in a place that only costs you the property taxes, utilities and an odd repair job here and there. Beats throwing a $1000 a month that you will never see again to a rental. (yes, that is about what a 2 bedroom apartment w/ a detached single car garage that is barely big enough to get the car in let alone store tools and stuff in it goes for where I live...) my mortgage for a 4 bedroom 2 car garage house with a nice yard is cheaper than the rent.

Hell, i wish i could afford to buy a house right now. There are several perfectly good houses around me selling for under 50k :shok:

Speaking as someone who has a Ranger project and JUST bought a house (at age 21 mind you!) buy the freaking house!

To Flippin Funny !!! (the quotes AND your post)

You just got rep for that.....
