Hey Boggin', I'm going to give you a little piece of advice for you to hold with you until the later stages of the project... paint her red again! I think it would look badass plus make a lot more sense with the engine bay and interior being red. As for the sides, I would do the bracing on the outside and maybe dress it up with a little diamond plate (I know it's offroad rice) if you don't want to do bondo work on the bottom if it is really nasty. Make sure you prep and dress the underside of the braces well, tremclad is your friend. For the inside look for the bed of an old F-series pickup and get the good bits, and for the heck of it see if you can find and modify a drop-in bedliner for it. It would cover up anything unsightly and add that durability for when you have the roof off. If you plan on having it off often in wet areas do a Rhino liner or eqivalent This machine will be awesome with the right amount of time and effort. If you ever do a road trip all the way up to the Yukon (not that far) let me know, we should wheel, I'm sure that Bronco would walk all over my '98 Ranger!

Wish I had pics for ya but when I chopped the back off my 88 suburban I turned the inside of the "bedsides" into work boxes like a Reading work truck box they where 12" deep on both sides much easier then replacing all the stock metal but the floor was in much better shape

but that didnt really work, the weld started to go through the "beam" on the body, it was to thin to weld, so i welded a peice that goes across the bed on the inside and goes up the bedside, so its shaped like this: |___

ill install it and get pics of it tomorrow possibly, just felt like updating and letting you know that shes not being overlooked

went to Home Hardware today and bought 12 bolts, 12 washers, 12 nuts and im going to secure the L shaped peice and lay down a peice of steel to cover up the gap on the inside, will get pics

well i hate to say it but im gonna strip the motor and axles and trans/tcase out of her, and rebuild it all, put some 4.10s in the axles, lock the rear, rebuild the motor with all new gaskets bearings pistons possibly etc, might do something with the trans, maybe a shift kit, and when thats all done (probably be 6-8months) ill look at putting it all in the ranger

reason for doing all this is the bronco is completely SHOT. all the crossmembers are gone, body is gone, she needs about $4000 to get on the road, and im not spending that kind of money on her

I started working at her again. brought her back to the garage(as seen in above pics) and fixed the brakes, got her working right. and gave her a paint job. ill get some pics asap.

plugged some more vaccums so she runs even better, fixed brakes, fixed the auto shifter, and also taught myself to weld so ill soon make a winch bumper. heres some pics of the paintjob
