Brakes getting hot?

Okay well removing it involves running a line directly from the mc to the splitter back on the rear pumpkin right?

Mike this is a good time to see if the brake lines are rusty and need replacement any way . many just use a a 3/16" coupling to bypass the valve.

Did I miss something? When you replaced the front brake pads did you replace the calipers? If not they could be frozen. Just because the back brakes are not working doesn't mean the rbs is bad. With the rear wheels off the ground you should hear/feel a little drag from the brakes when you hand turn the wheel. If not the brakes are not adjusting. Pull off a side and clean it and see if something is missing/not installed correctly. If the brakes are dragging could the brake lines have air in them? Fix the rear brakes first then look at the front. On the front wheels off the ground are the wheels dragging? They should drag but then turn easier after the pads get kicked free by the rotors.

you missed #12? where he said the pedal to the floor, back wheels up and they would spin in 2nd gear. It Kinda tells you there is no fluid pressure back there.

Even still, He can put the rabs back in service if he finds he still doesn't have rear brakes.

There are, Literally hundreds and hundreds of discussions about RABS and how it fails.

Okay let me know if this us a dumb idea, but would it help to remove the bed in order to inspect the rear brake lines?

They aren't that well concealed Mike. on the west coast you don't get allot of rust like the east do you?

No but the truck came from santa barbara which is an oceany place but i don't see alot of rust. I know some of the lines are hidden behind the fuel tank though

Also does anyone know what suze flare wrench i need to replace that abs module?

Flare wrenches are made in the same sizes as regular open end wrenches. So measure it with a regular wrench. I don't remember what size it is (maybe 10mm). You can figure it out.

Also make sure that what the flare nut is screwed into is secured when you go to remove it or you might twist and destroy the line.

I am having one hell of a time getting those fittings off. Is there any trick to securing the valve so i can crack those fittings loose?
