I’ll get you a link to the headers I’m attempting to use. There about the only set I think will work aside from custom fab

Oddly enough. Driver side fits perfect. Just a slight nod to the steering shaft and we’re inn like flinn

After scratching my head for 3 weeks trying to get these headers to work. I stepped back. Had a realistic look at how the truck is going to be used. And decided to run 2.5 ram horn manifolds found on the early corvettes. I used a crap set I had laying around for mock up. And 95% of my fitment issues were solved.

Although I question the material choice for your dash everything else looks good :icon_thumby:

Sadly I’ve run into a snag and I have to pull the transmission back out. Fun!

i think in my build the trans and eng went in and out oh....at least a dozen times. and even now with the first fire up i plan on pulling it another 1-2 times this year for upgrades and fine tunning.

i ran into an issue with my starter. this engine always had trouble with starters grinding. found the issue, and ordered the fix

so i had a starter grind. tried shimming it a few different ways. used the correct knurled bolts. nothing seemed to help. decided to drop the starter to have a closer look......

well this doesn't look promising..... lets have a closer look at the block.

in the words of the great bill engvall "HERES YOUR SIGN!!"

Well no big deal. see they make an adapter plate to mount the newer TH style transmissions to the 55-56 blocks that didn't have a block mounted starter. they also work great for situations like mine. this allows me to use the older style starter that would bolt to the transmission. no big deal. should be here in the next few days
