Broncos just been doing it's duty as my D.D since my last update.
Nosing in on 45k miles. Nothing unsatisfactory to report.
Its tires (e rated kenda klever r/t's) that sport a 50k tread life guarantee seem like they are going to beat their expected lifespan by
at least 20%.. mine have ~43k on them currently and still have about 1/8" tread left to use before they'll be on the wear bars. Once theyre spanked I'll be replacing them with the same tire. By the time the next set is wore out... Hopefully I'll be in the position to then jump up to 37s. Gotta do the prerequisite upgrades first though.. as 35s are already "pushing it" with regards to the hoss 1.0 steering rack and the m190 front axle when I'm wheeling.
Latest mod was a cheapo eBay molle panel for the passengers side of the center console. 25$ shipped to my door. It may be a little smaller than the panels offered by R.C or DV8 or any of those other companies.. but there was
no way in hell I was gonna pay the amount of money those other companies want for a slightly bent piece of mild steel with some holes punched in it

gtfooh. I pay enough in involuntary taxes as it is.. I certainly ain't gonna be paying any sort of overland/tacticool tax

Came with hardware and some foam stuck to it wherever it contacts the console as not to add any additional NVH (the broncos come from the factory with enough as is) .. and as of now it's holding a 1L bottle bag and a holster for my (freshly modernized) surefire g2 nitrolon. Id like to get myself a good sized dump pouch to hang off of it as a bit of a trash receptacle.. well see. Can't think of anything else id really need to put on it... Perhaps a GMRS holster whenever I get around to getting a radio..
One thing to think of... Pretty much gotta put all your molle crap on the panel BEFORE you bolt it on.. because once it's installed there really isn't enough room between the panel&console to get the straps woven through and then snapped together.
All in all.. very worthwhile & practical upgrade.
I'll have the bronco in for a thorough servicing within the next month or so. Engine oil, diffs, t-case, and a simple dump&fill for the trans. Need/want to get a Blackstone test kit for the old trans fluid to get analyzed.. as running 35s on 3.73 gearing has traditionally been considered something an automatic really wouldn't be happy with long term.
I decided to take my chances though given that the 10r's 1st gear ratio is close enough to being twice as deep as anyone's older 4-5-6spd autotragic.. hell.. even 2nd gear in the 10r is 15% deeper than most other trannys first gear ratios...
We'll see just how much premature wear I've introduced soon enough lol.
