Just when I think I am starting to make headway on mine you remind me of what I need to do yet. Both rear spring hanger brackets don't look hot on mine and I think one shackle needs replaced.

Looking good though, that frame looks new with paint on it.

Get on it! Those hangers are cheap on Amazon.

I want to do the front of the frame now, but I also don't feel like taking the cab off.

Adding a BII tank for extra range is something I've been wanting to do. Glad to see it done.

I will be needing more information on this B2 gas tank and such, as I recently came into a spare one of those.

Well so far... It's just sitting in between the frame rails. I wanted to use the plastic tank from the 90's F350 narrow frame Chassis Cab that AllanD is always going on about, but I couldn't find one locally that hadn't had a hole punched in it by the wrecker.

It looks like I will need to cut out some of the bed support rail, and luckily I installed a 1" body lift years ago that will give me more space. The filler hose is going to just barely miss the bed mounting bolt, and the hose will likely need to have a funny bend in it.

This weekend I am going to build some crossmembers and get it bolted in. I also need to find a skid plate. I'll add pics as I go.

They are on the list, hoping to get the trans and front suspension done first, ideally when I get another box so I take this one off, do suspension and clean/paint the frame and then install new to me non rusty painted to factory color bed.

Same deal on my front frame, I wanna do it but pulling the cab is kind of a big deal. I have been working around how to do it. Easier without the engine in place (jack it up use stands and roll the running gear out from under it) but pulling the powertrain out isn't very appealing either.

Yeah pulling the cab is kind of a big deal and I don't really have the means here. I need to put in an I beam in my garage so I can use a chain hoist.

I look forward to seeing all that work getting done!

I'll post pics and such as I go on the tank. It'll likely all be custom work though; not using the factory crossmembers or filler hose(maybe). It'll be more of "how I did it" and not a "how to"

My 1" body lift will help. I will likely need to cut out part of the bed support rail as well. I'll find out in a couple days. I can also lower it down a little if I need to.

Picked up an '87 Bronco II fuel pump assembly and swapped over the Bosch fuel pump and fuel level sender from my Ranger.

Added a strap to the top of the tank and added some strips of rubber in between the tank and the straps. Fuel lines are next.

From that view it sure looks like that B2 tanks hangs very low.

Reminds me of a build on the FSB forum, a dude mounted his tank above the frame (cut a hole in his Bronco cargo area to accomodate it) and it increased his clearance immensely.

Now my wheels are turning...that can't be good.

It does sit pretty low. I do have the skid plate for it and I'm lifted about 5" so I think it'll be okay.

Used some 3/8 and 5/16 Nylon fuel line and some new 5/16 and 3/8 fuel fittings. Part numbers:

1 x Dorman 800-074 5/16 Fuel Line (return)
1 x Dorman 800-075 3/8 Fuel Line (supply)
1 x Dorman 800-086 3/8 fitting
1 x Dorman 800-084 5/16 fitting
1 x Dorman 800-080 5/16 fitting



Had to notch the bed support rail.

Also going to have to put the filler neck in the bed or something. The fuel door interferes with where my S is on my STX stripes. I don't want to cut up the sticker to fit a fuel door. That'll just look dumb.
