I talked to the guys at mercedes4x4. They don't plan on making an adapter. A guy could build his own out of 1" aluminum and a piece of 1" steel for a flywheel/flex plate adapter.
Or he could just find a trans/t-case combo mb4x4 already makes an adapter for. I'm puting a 617 in my willys truck and I will be using their adapter for a 5.0 aod.

I'd go with an M5R2 or a ZF5
 
They're expensive and hard to find around here. The truck is going to be my DD and won't see any towing. If it was I'd put my spare 12V in it instead. I've put a ZF in my crawler, they're big and heavy.

Im starting my build up in the off road truck build threads.

I think it will be mostly sheet metal work that is slow going on this one as I've done it before and the courier is simpler to work on being 45 years old no electrical really
