been looking at cheap old school cars

if thats your only choices, go for the fairlane

im still looking. im considering other makes besides ford....if i like what i find anyway. the reason im looking for something older is beacuse parts are cheap, i like to work on them and well ive always wanted one. my buddy has a 66 mustang coupe as his DD, his is a 200I6 and 4spd. hes pushing 40mpg with the hydrogen conversion we did last year. :icon_thumby:

get the pinto!! its a 2.3 with a manual trans :)

really though it looks like a solid car for a reasonable price...

thats why i looked at it lol. my buddy told me if i got it i could have his SVO stuff he got and a SVO turbo he rebuilt:D:headbang:

Between the two of them I would pick the Fairlane.

I am thinking of picking up a '67-'69 Barracuda sometime down the road for a cruiser/bruiser. Something semi-cheap that isn't very common and looks sharp (to me anyway)

For a DD I would definately go with either the Pinto or corvair, more so the pinto. The falcon looks like a nice car to hot rod instead of taking daily abuse. And while the bigger cars are cool, you'll kick yourself later from looking over the gas receipts. And a wagon? come on, more room to pick up poon!

tryed to find the ad but its been deleted....those mopars shure dont stick around:icon_rofl:

i actully like the pinto lol

For $500 my gut tells me it wasn't all that great.

What exactly do you want? You are all over the page here, if you want get something to get something it is one thing. But I would continue to browse until a particular model caught your eye and then pursue a good deal on that model, rather than bounce between notirously problematic compact cars, trucks and boats.

That said, Grandpa bought a 1970 Dodge D200 brand new, dad has it now. It has been a very good truck and is a riot to drive (I love how it shifts) Everything from the firewall back looks identical to that '68, and the grille has more than a passing resemblance too.
