Frigging auto parts store idiot needs to fix it on his own dime.

Why on earth would you ask or allow a stranger to perform such a task? Most parts store people around here can't do simple math if the computer is broke and don't know which end of a screwdriver belongs in the palm of your hand. They don't touch my vehicles.

Either way, you can't fix stupid!

Screw that. Go to the yard and find a set of arms from a 90-92. J-hooks baby.

But yeah, why let them put your wipers on if you can do it yourself?

Yea, I saw an idiot at an auto parts store do worse though. Changed out someone's wiper blade in the winter, pulled the arm to the upright position away from the windshield, removed the old wiper blade and let go of the arm to go throw away the old one and get the new one.... Wham!Crack! One broken windshield.... on a newer vehicle. Rumor has it that it was like a $6-800 windshield.

Are those a direct swap? Do they go out 90* like newer vehicles?

It is a direct swap, but the arms only come out to 45* like the earlier ones on the Rangers. I was at a bigger junk yard this summer that had a wide range of RBVs, I found an 89 BII that was still pins. The arms I used came off a 91 Ranger, but I am guessing that 90 would be j-hooks as well. I know a set of arms from a 95 do not work.

Yeah, I tried playing with the later ones at the JY and it wouldn't go on a first gen.

The style that locks up would be sweet, it gets old cleaning windows and you can never get the wipers out of the way.

Well it was freezing cold out and was like it's just a wiper blade how can ya mess that up apparently he figured out how like no finesse just pulled it off and broke it but I'll have to see if I can get one at the yard like a 90 my b2 is an 89 so it should swap over I'm not even sure how to pull the old arms off I look and there seems to be just a little clip that swings and out and the arm should just pop off

Yea, you pull the arm away from the windshield as far as it goes like you were going to change a blade, then pull the little tab out. Sometimes you have to use a screwdriver to pry it out. That should lock the arm in the up position and allow you to work it off the splines
