Hard clunk

I have had an aggressive clunk from a stop to start depending throttle. I can idle through it. It stopping I can feel this clunk. Also with aggressive downshifts. Truck has been very well cared for. On its 4th transmission. Everything under has been apart and inspected. Kinda at a point we're im looking at replacing a axle? Wasn't full of metal or missing a gear. Unsure what this problem is. Any help?

Classic description of a bad U-joint. Have you looked at brakes, spring mounts, and ball joints?

I feel same way as SenorNoob that it is a U-joint. Jack up back end and see if there is any play in the u-joints. Might try moving one tire at a time back and forth and looking for noises. Also, with it on jack stands on rear of truck, try engaging drive train and see if you can at least determine which end it is on.

Brand New ujoints. 2nd set in the last year. New shocks. New ball joints

Is there a carrier bearing in the rear driveline? Radius arm bushing would be more on breaking, motor mount could do it, rear shackle mount or shackle would do it too...
