I purchased two engine mounts from RA part #A2853, everywhere I look claims that the engine mounts for the 2000 2.5l rwd 5spd are symmetric, yet the ones that are on my truck are not..they look much different from one another.

It's currently hanging from the crane that doesn't stay up overnight...

Help with part numbers?

Saw this issue a few years back. IIRC only one mount can be found in the aftermarket and the other was only Ford, and I think that one was discontinued

Well the one you don’t have a replacement for.

make it work.

I just put 'em back on..they're a little shaky, but not broken.

Answer is neither mount looked like the ones that came from RA.

I'll make it work later when I do the 302 mod.

Well, one mount is squished and the other stretched whenever you torque the engine. Most times the stretched mount will be the one that fails. If the new one is on the stretch side, then you should be fine with just replacing it alone. The other will last the life of the truck, engine, body, transmission, clutch, starter, several sets of plugs & wires, multiple oil & filter changes, and the tires (sets) without need for replacement. In most cases.
The only case where it might likely fail would be in a collision situation where it was stretched after getting 'hardened' over its lifetime under hood.
Boneyard would be my suggestion if it is damaged.
