Anyone with a 2011 or 2012 Mustang?

The belt is one of the things checked in the courtesy check. You know what color box they checked? Green!

Some of that is the way the tech fills the MPI form out. Ford says that if we find a problem we are to mark it in red right away, let the advisor know, and then mark the "serviced" box if we fix it.

I have found that people see the red box marked they tend to miss the box that says it was serviced and throw a fit anyway "because I paid all this money and there is still a problem".

And then some guys are just lazy and check everything green anyway.

Good techs are very few and extremely far in between.

If I caught the guy that does my federal inspection just pencil whipping it I would find a new shop. I no longer use the International dealership here because of this inspection pencil whipping and poor workmanship.

If I do pull the trigger on a new stang (late this year or early next year), finding a dealership with techs I trust is going to be a tough task (for warranty work)!

Use your Ranger for a guinea pig to find a good one.

The dealer may be more willing to work with you/bend over backwards if you are a regular customer too.

Not worth it after seeing the abysmal work. You know the joke "What do you call 100 lawyers up to their neck in sand?"? Well the same applies for technicians... "Not enough sand". What do you call 10,000 technicians at the bottom of the ocean?
A good start.

I could go on and on... they are taught to make as much money for the company as they possibly can... most of them are liars :icon_thumby:

What job doesn't?

Do you sit around and yell at customers and tell them to go away at work or do you try to make as much money as you can for where you work (and thus try justify your continued existance)

If they are not proactive on pointing out potential problems they not only barely break even on your oil change but they also get screamed at for not pointing out potential problems when they crop up at inoppertune times.

If you can't find a dealer you are comfortable with warrenty work I sure as heck wouldn't buy a car from it. Either buy used, drive to a better dealer or get something else.

I used to be a technician, so I know what it takes to at least be a decent one. Countless times customers came in asking for 2nd opinions after visiting dealerships. One particular Toyota dealership was notorious for telling customers that their CV shafts were shot, when in reality, they were perfectly fine. These are techs that scam people to make a nickel. If those are your type of technicians, by all means pay them to keep scamming innocent people. Me, I smile after seeing scammer shops closing down.

I can't say we have done any transmission work yet to date on a 2011 mustang period in our shop?!

Thanks for your input!!! That's a relief. I don't have alldata for the mustang, so I can't view any TSB's that are currently out... so that is reassuring.

You are going to trust a tech? Ain't they all in cahoots to make money for the company?

If you don't like your dealer fine, but they are not all bad.

I want nothing to do with my local Ford dealership. They can rot in hell, And if I could prove they intentionally erased codes so the car would pass the safety inspection or that they intentionally ****ed up my Suburban we would be in court over it.

Mine wouldn't replace tires that were separating from the treads before the sale. Then they also cleared codes and said they fixed the truck. I came back the next day pissed off, the AC didn't work, the CEL light was on, it was running like crap, and it shook to hell on the freeway (bad tires), the radio volume dial didn't work (turning it down turned it up, turning it up turned it up)

The MAF got changed, the condenser got changed, the radio got changed (all for free). What didn't, however, were the tires. I had those changed asap at cost.

BDAB, do what I do... mark the part that is in question so that you KNOW it gets messed with. If they say they serviced it, but it is evident that they didn't, that's all the proof you really need to win that battle ;)

I am pretty sure they didn't **** up my Suburban on purpose...... but they did do it and would not own up to the **** up.

on my Blazer, however, the cleared codes to pass the safety inspection and intentionally hid problems. The Chevy dealership I took it too says its not the first time that particular Ford dealership has done that.

Since the Prius got totaled I got the ok to pull the trigger on a V6 mustang when I get the insurance check and I will not buy from them.

the other problem with a mustang is here I can only drive it 9 months out of the year.

You getting it with an auto or stick? The V6 comes with a MT82 too, just not the heavier duty version in the GT and Boss. All have had their issues, but nothing "epic" enough for a recall. Who knows, could be fixed by now, but no announcements.
