I am curious to see all the different decal packages that were available for the 2nd generation Rangers. I can't seem to find this information though. I've seem some wild 90s era decal packages on some Rangers on Facebook marketplace. Thanks!

I don't know of an "archive", but it would be great if there was one. Such as, a complete listing of designs, what colors were available, with example period photos.

The only info sources that I'm aware of, are the sales brochures which aren't anywhere near complete on stripe packages.

I *think* that the Ford parts books would be a good reference source for available tape stripes, but I haven't really looked at the little bit of those that I have in my Ranger Porn Collection.

However, the old body shop estimating guide books from the era are true goldmines for info.

The body shop estimating guide pages that I do have show the following:
1983 to 1988 - 22 styles of factory tape stripes.
1989 to 1992 - 18 styles of factory tape stripes.
1994 to 1997 - 17 styles of factory tape stripes.

So, first three Ranger generations, 57 "styles" (designs), with variations for the different boxes and cabs. And, each in several different available colors. The Bronco II, and the Explorer also had their own styles. So, bottom line, a database, or an archive, on just the factory stuff would be quite the task (a million monkeys with a million typewriters comes to mind).

And there were also a lot of aftermarket tape stripes, which only further muddies the water.

I apologize for the crappy pics, but attached are the pages I have. If you zoom in you can make out most of
the details, which include Ford part numbers (body shops had to order parts, right?).

Can't resist a "food for thought": Someone with the experience, and equipment, in making large adhesive vinyl decals, and having an "understanding" in place with Ford, could probably have themselves a nice, lucrative niche business, repro'ing stripe decals; especially if it included a good comprehensive guide as to what was originally available, and for the ease of ordering of the repro decals.
