My Ranger came with this mirror installed on the drivers side. I like it because it's a bit larger than stock and has a good field of view, and it has a nice slim profile. I don't think it's stock to any Ranger. Anyone know what kind of truck it came off of? Or maybe an aftermarket?

that is stock to first gen Rangers. My Grandpa's 83 Ranger had them on both doors.

check the junkyards for the 1st gens 83 to 88.

No, the mounting brackets are shaped differently and the mirror is bigger. I have the similar OEM ones on my truck, unfortunately I don't have any good close up pics.

The brackets to the door are thicker and smoother and the angled part is thicker on the stock mirror. And the main mirror is smaller and rounder.

My guess is aftermarket towing mirrors.

I'll check when I get home, but almost positive those are identical to the new in box set of full size Bronco ones I have.

I agree with 85, they are not Ranger mirrors, but they do look like a Ford part, possibly something 70s.

its a ford style similar to the 1st gen rangers and ‘80-? full size fords. Think it might be a jc whitney or other catolog part (lmc truck maybe) replacement.

looking closer at it... I do think the mirrors on my grandpa's 83 had a more rounded body to them and not the angular one on this... so yeah probably not stock 1st gen

I still have the brackets for the ones that came on my 1990, and they are a bit different from that one.

When I removed those things and put simple, small mirrors on it probably gained 2mpg. The buffeting with the windows open was insane from those air brakes.

You have to remember, Ford didn't produce those mirrors and hardware...they were always outsourced. Over the years there were dozens and dozens of companies that manufactured those type mirrors and heads, and they also made replacement heads. Most all had the same type of attachment post, so it was easy to replace just the head. Very possible that was done over the years on your Ranger.
Even now, you can walk into just about any auto parts store and find several different heads available. Go online and you'll find many heads/sizes/manufacturers.

Those were called low mount swing away mirrors, my 89 F150 had them as did tons of other F trucks in the mid to late 80's and early 90's.

Might be a LMC replacement mirror

Im pretty sure my 90 has those same mirrors

Early Toyota trucks had same mirror. My 83 4x4 has them

they dont look like my, 1988, 2012, or 2019 Ranger mirrors.
