So I kinda just finished my 2wd 87 bronco ii for now and started driving it for the 1st time since in bought almost 2yrs ago. Everytime I drive it it seems like I have a ton of body roll . Is this a common thing on these bronco iis?I do have front and rear sway bars with urethane bushings. It almost feels like I done have any at all. And it feels ass heavy also. When I hit bumps it feels a tad springy,it takes a second or 2 to stop bouncing. I have lowered shocks which are usually stiffer then stock ones. I'm assuming I might need stiffer shocks and maybe an Xtra leaf spring on each side.Let me know if this can be fixed or is this how it is on these.

How thick are the bars? What are the rest of the details on the suspension?

Front swaybar is 1 1/8" behind the axle OEM . Rear is 1 OEM as well. 3 " drop beams with 2" drop coil springs for a v6 up front. Flip kit with shackles out back. Djm front and rear shocks. But with the shocks I got shocks for same yr ranger like the one I have now. That's only thing I can think it could be is maybe the ranger drop shocks aren't stiff enough for the Xtra weight. But I looked up on djm website for an 88 f150 and they list the same shocks I have now. Which I assume the f150 is heavier then a bronco ii.

I see you live in same part of Maine as I do. Come on over and test drive it and you can see what I mean .

My '90 Bronco II 2WD does seem to feel a little bit "tippier" than a Ranger or Explorer.

I just close my eyes when it makes me dizzy, and I also have a special hat that I wear for driving mine, "just in case":

I would think lowering it as much as I did the body roll wouldn't be as noticeable as it is I guess. With urethane bushings on sway bar and everything and wider tires. If the 4x4 have same body roll I can't imagine lifting one of those and thinking it's a good idea. Yikes!!!

Does yours still have the dummy t-case, or was it changed out for a real 2WD transmission?

Yup! Dummy transfer case

Dummy transfer case
Is that only way you can get rid of transfer is you need a normal transmission?:there's no way to use current transmission after I remove transfer case?

Right; it would involve changing the 4WD transmission and dummy t-case to a 2WD transmission (and driveshaft).

Very late production B2s used a regular 2WD transmission. My 1990 (December 1989 build) came from the factory with a 2WD A4LD. I converted it, to a 5-speed FM132 (2WD).

If yours no longer had the dummy t-case transmission, I could see it being tippier than it should be. I would also think that lowering yours would have helped.

The reason I ask, is that mine rides, and feels better, with some added weight (ballast, if you will) in the form of a couple of barbell weights laying in the rear passenger footwells. I honestly think that one reason that Ford went with the dummy t-case in the 2WDs, when they started offering 2WD B2s in '86, was to try and keep a lower center of gravity (CG). The 2WDs also got the bigger sway bar on the rear axle.

As it was, the B2 still had the ugly rollover issue, that really killed it and in doing so birthed the Explorer. in its place

You may want to see if yours feels better, with some added weight as low and centered as you can get it.

If you have some money to burn I'd try out some nice adjustable shocks from qa1 or fox or whoever.. extra points if you go for double adjustable.

Im assuming those adjustable shocks are a universal shock? Or do they make them specific to your application? I did see that rockauto offers air shocks for the bronco ii. Not sure if they would be to long for a lowered one though.

i wonder if you can put a front sway from an explorer, like the rangers can do? their front sway bars are huge and i took it off and went back to a ranger bar because it was so thick it made for a rough ride

or if someone makes a thicker aftermarket sway bar.

i hate body roll and am going to get the rear sway bar for my new ranger because it has no rear bar and gets sway on the highway in a cross wind
