I have a 2025 Ranger XL/STX and can't find anything concrete which radio I have. It's actual dimensions are 9.5" tall, 6" wide.

Is there not a menu somewhere in settings that shows the software and hardware revisions?

According to a quick Google:
Sync 4 (landscape/physical buttons) and Sync 4A (portrait/touch-focused) share the same underlying technology, but 4A uses a larger, portrait-oriented screen with "adaptive dash cards" for frequently used items.

I should have closed this, but yes, you're right about a few things, but the software doesn't say what it is exactly.
