Another FW 78/79 dana 44 swap

Yes I am wanting to go in front of the diff. And need it to be that low also.

That bolt is in there, I tried everything but drilling it out. Thinking about drilling a 1/2 hole in the stuck bolt then running a long 1/2 bolt through everything. Kind of like this but with a smaller bolt to fit the heim joint I have and using the bracket I have modified to go in the front.

drill and tap the bolt, then put a stud in it, then use some big washers and nut to pull it out like you would a power steering pulley...

Took hours but got the 3/4 bolt out. Put a 3/4 OD 9/16 ID sleeve in it and did this.

Gettin closer. No springs today I take it?

Alright, we need to start hashing out the details of this trip. What are you guys' plans? Arrival time? Lodging? Departure time? Etc.

It looks like no camping at Redbird, so I looked around for some local campsites. These are the two places that Redbird suggests staying at. It looks to be ~8 bucks a night for primitive camping:

http://www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/2969.htm

I'll email my contact at Hi-Lift to see if he knows anything about whether lodging will be allowed at the park due to the event.

I just emailed the events guy at Redbird too. Hopefully I get a timely response from both.

I look to leave after work on Friday, and arrive relatively late (~10-11p).

If all else fails, I can look into this stuff on my own and just meet you guys at the park in the morning (what time?).

Greg said he plans to leave his house Sat. around 7AM...which means I need to leave around 5:30-5:45 to meet up with him....

I work 2nd shift so there is no way I would go after work Friday ( not unless ya want me to roust ya up around 1:30 AM or later )....

dunno if I plan to stay Sat. night yet...will see how that goes....

also, Interlake is only 1hr south of Redbird...we could leave Saturday evening and head down there to camp...wheel Sunday til noonish or so....just a thought....

btw, don't forget to bring the cable...

not sure if ill be riding along or not, might get stuck driving to cincinatti after an explorer for the wife.

Just broke the clutch cable on the cobra. Nobody can get one until tomorrow and it is sitting on a sidestreet across town.

Sounds good. About what time would that put you guys there?

The Interlake idea sounds interesting. Mini UA if you will. That would put me another hour away from home, but what's another hour anyways?

The cable is laying on my floorboard, and will stay there until it is in your possession. :D

Start it in first. Phantom shift it home. Or just drive it home in first Finish your trac bar and install your new springs. :icon_thumby:
