Well, a big enough shovel would have… with a Diesel engine attached…
This one would have worked.

If you're high centered and shovel isn't cutting it, you break out the high lift jack and shovel material under the wheel.
Did that first. It wasn’t working well. Everything was very loose and dry and kept getting kicked out. A short pull from Jim was much easier and quicker.
 
I was thinking “Hmmm. I’m stuck. I need to be pulled off these rocks.”
I'm thinking that we all have a spare wheel somewhere underneath our trucks. Maybe they need to be mounted on another axel, rubber side down.
 
Mine has been out of the box once never used it. Still scheming on how to mount it.

Usually I just put the stuck vehicle in neutral and let the tractor do tractor things.

come a long and about 60’ of straps. One end wrapped around the bumper and one on a tree.
