- My credo
- In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
So I got up later than I had hoped this morning, thinking, "All I have to do is" get my allergy shots, load the truck for the trip to Carlisle and get on the road. No problem. I still decided to cook a meaningful breakfast. That way I won't really need to eat again until this evening.
But then I realize I forgot to visit the ATM at work yesterday to get cash for the trip. Yeah 3 ATMs right by the cafeteria. I could have completed the task on company time. So, add that to today's list. Plus, I still need a couple things from the drug store. It still won't take long. I can zip around town pretty quick on the motorcycle.
As I'm cooking and pondering these things, I catch up on what my TRS buddies are doing. My ibservation is that we seem to have a bunch if people here who work well under pressure. Sometimes even better than normal. Several are wrapping up big projects at the last minute. Even me. I just did a front end alignment on my truck Saturday and did a few little "nice to have" projects. Rick is down there near Atlanta, building a trailer for the trip. Justin is troubleshooting problems from a head replacement and rebuilding his exhaust. Granted, that's fir next months trip. But for a young, working family man with a young child, this is getting close to the deadline. And I know there are others in the same situation.
I'm not picking on anyone about procrastinating or time management. I'm in a very fragile glass house on those subjects. I'm just amazed at how much we accomplish when the heat is on. I should still meet my self-impposed goal of departing around 12:00-12:30.
But I better not take any more time to post here.
