Just an observation....

referring to the Coyote.

he isnt a kid but the kids here all get intakes that say BOSS 302 on them and call them 302s. i always bust thier ballz and say men call them coyotes.....because men know what windsors are.
I watched a youtube video where they went around asking employees at a ford dealer which engine they would choose in a new F150...

An alarming number of them said the 5.0 because "its been around forever"....basically not understanding that the coyote is NOT the 302 from the windsor family.

Actually i read somewhere the gen 2 coyotes actually displace 305CI cause ford bored them a bit for some reason. Not sure if thats true though.

remember the coyote is a massaged romeo...which started development in 85. was put into service in 91...so 30 years is accurate. soon will out flank the windsor. think 28 vs 50 oz imbalance and gt 40p...egr ect...

unlike the windsors they were designed from day 1 to push air through.

also ... there are only 2 generations of ranger from 83 to 2011 to most in ford engineering....others three due to cab size and door bar restructure...

there is the ttb tib....and the sla.

The Coyote has been around for 14 years...

i saw a very decent looking 80s single cab f250 4x4 with 5 speed on marketplace yesterday, around san antonio. the guy had it listed for 1800. he didn;t have the engine size in the ad so i didn't copy the link.

after a bit i went back to message him and ask what engine and he had changed the price to 5500 so i figured it probably wasn;t worth the distance than. there is an 88 or 92 single cab 4x4 with a 460 for 2200ish but he said something is wrong with the engine, and its automatic

That would never have occured to me. Admittedly, I retired in 2017 having never writen a warranty repair order on a 5.0- and we sold a pile of them, including in a bunch of plow trucks. No leaks, no running complaints, nothing.

But so has the EB so "being around for ever" would kinda be a non point wouldnt it?

Neither are new at this point.

Coyote came out the same model year but early in 2010 calender year in the mustang so it is older though lol.
