I've been relying on coffee to wake me up in the morning but it gives me some serious heartburn later in the day. I don't like energy drinks or pop, and I've tried apples...heard they worked well but turns out they don't for me. I think no-doz/pills are out too.

What do you guys do?

Cocaine? Honestly I have never been much of a coffee drinker for the reason of getting addicted to it. Depending on how long you have been drinking coffee, it may be a pretty bad habit to break. Unfortunatly inless you cut it cold turkey, I dont think there is anything that will give you the same alertness that wont have some sort of drawback.

black tea, green tea, ginseng, I like mine with milk and honey (of course, I also drink alot of coffee too). Or try some tobacco, if ya wanna go that route... :c-n:

+1 on the tea. most of the time, tea has almost as much caffeine as coffee does

I'll give the tea a try, never thought of that. Tobacco, really? Smoking always just knocks me on my ass...makes me want to go to sleep. I think the effects vary from person to person though.

I'm not really concerned about the drawbacks...as far as I'm concerned anything's better than choking down alka-seltzer every night.

Cigarettes or i was thinking more about dip: Copenhagen and the like, but all that stuff has other risks, and it's expensive (in more ways than one!) Tobacco is a stimulant, they say it helps with concentration. :sexe:

i been drinking coffee for the past 30 years, and i found that what give you the heartburn is the acid that results from the brew proceedure. a trick my mother in law showed me is to take a 3 pound can of favorite coffee and put in a "sun tea" jar fill with cold water and set in the sun all day and then strain through PLAIN white paper towels in large collender:stirthepot:you come out with a concentrate that lasts up to two weeks in the fridge. pour desired amount in cup top with hot water

heres an idea: go to bed earlier. stay asleep longer. there is no need for teas, coffee, sugar, cigs, etc... to wake you up. your body, if well rested, should wake up refreshed, on it's own without any "stimulants"

yeah, that would take me like 10 hours a night, im lucky if i get 8....

you could always try this. i dont have any idea how well it works, i am skeptical.

Rubbing caffine all over your body? Sounds like a good idea to me...

I drink a glass of OJ every morning. It gets addicting after a while. But much better for you than coffee, tea, or caffine pills. Or smoking. Just my $.02...

spankin' the monkey is a good way to start the day too :icon_thumby:

Putting coconut oil in a hot drink in the morning always helped me.

A combination of honey, lemon juice and virgin coconut oil with a green tea bag wakes me up and keeps me from feeling starving or tired the rest of the day. It's kind of a California yuppie thing, though.
