Alternatives to coffee?

Two words: Crystal Meth.

get thirty cats... dont feed them for three days, then duct tape a can of cat food onto your skull.... that will keep you awake.

Get really, really drunk the night before and wake up next to some ogre of a woman with summer teeth and a butter face to match.
That'll wake you up in a hurry.

50 g of vitamin D? Holy crap. That's almost 2 oz. Must be one heck of a horse pill. Or an IV bag.QUOTE]

Wanted to say that when I got home last night, I checked on that vit. D. It's actually 50,000 iu, not mg. I'm not sure how the iu works out, but its 12,500 % daily recommended value.

The B-12 is more pertinent to this thread though as it gives energy for hours.

I went on a quest a few years back to find something that would affect me...

I still have not been successful...

I tried brewing coffee different ways, even trying to refine it down to concentrate the caffeine. Then I got into Mt Dew. Then it was on to cold tea (don't really care for the hot stuff). For awhile I was making my own Southern Style Sweet Tea...

Used an old glass coffee pot to bring 6 Red Rose teabags to a boil. Then left it sit an cool for 8-12 hours. Repeat. Now combine both batches with 2 and 1/4 cups sugar. Add cold water to bring to a gallon in volume.

I stopped doing it partly because it became a time-consuming task to make and partly because even loaded up with that, I could still fall right to sleep.... when I was able to sleep that is.

if you have a desk job this one works to keep you alert.get a genuine fire axe, stretch arm out on desk, stand axe up on desk with blade or spike aimed at your head and hold with hand on outstretched arm at the bottom of axe.

hand holding axe must be on the table.now, try to fall asleep.

borrowed for navy damage control training.i drink coffee, pinch of salt in the grounds, switch to half and half blend in the evening.

If you are sleeping 8 hours and are still tired, You have something wrong with you.
Try multi-vitamins. If it is a vitamin deficiency, vitamins will wake you up.
If it is just the acid part that is bothering you, try instant.

i dont drink coffee very much anymore, I just drink a monster energy drink and get more buzz out of that then a coffee anyways.

I tried Red Bull once. I was on my way from Columbus Ohio to Myrtle Beach, SC. It was my first 12 hour drive. I was in my 2001 Ranger. About the edge of NC I was getting tired. I had worked the whole day before and we left at 3AM.

I stopped on request of Heather and got a Red Bull. Wrong thing to do.

I stopped at every exit from then on out to take a leak.

So, in a way it kept me awake, because I kept having to go to the bathroom.

The Italians beat you to it a long time ago.

You can distill coffee. It's called espresso.

Though it's not conventional, you can use a light roast if you want more caffeine, as well. Kona is notorious for that, but bloody expensive if you don't live in Captain Cook.
