Lol true. That's the tip of the previous owner iceberg for me. Most of its been sorted out though.

So it moved. It didn't move far, and there is a lot that isn't quite right, but it moved.

I'm a little rusty on front end alignment, someone refresh my memory. Is alignment supposed to involve a pipe wrench, a mini-sledge, and a whole can of PB blaster?

Yeah, I'm gonna have to break down and buy the toe-adjusting hook now. Sucks, but I messed with it for over an hour tonight and I still barely got it straight enough to pull out of the garage. It is no where close to good enough to drive on the road.

Only if you are lucky. If you are not lucky, it involves a torch and sawsall in addition to what you mentioned.

Well I got the two pieces to move in the sleeve fairly easily by themselves, but the sleeve is still very hard to move with everything hooked up. I think tomorrow I am just going to rip the sleeve off completely and anti-seize everything.

Although I gotta say, I don't think there are any trucks "just like mine" out there anymore. The day I find her exact twin, down to all the mods I've done and everything, then I will believe in Chaos Theory.



Got the clutch re-bled tonight, actually feels fairly normal now. First time in over a year. Then I swept the garage so I can lay down without turning my clothes into cement. Got the toe "straightened out". It's close enough for jazz anyway. Camber is awful though. The front tires look like they are low when you look at them from the outside, if you look at the inner edge, they are barely touching the ground. She is gonna have to sit until Saturday when I can go down and align it.

Minus the mods. Plus a few dents. Its a 88 with a 2.9. Manual tranny and tcase and windows. It'll keep the engine for awhile. He has three years til he gets it

9/15/12. Today was the first time my truck ever had its camber/caster screwed with. The D-28 that I took out still had the factory non-adjustable sleeves in it, so I know it was never messed with before.

She drives about as straight as she ever did now that I got it all lined up. The wheel is a hair off, like it always was, but it's at least as good as it was before. Can't complain given that this was my first solo alignment in 3 years where an adjustment actually had to be made.

Took the trans out today for inspection and hydraulic repairs. Finally got sick of the clutch/bleeding issues and decided I am going to replace the whole system again. I'm just sick of screwing with it, I want to drive my truck.

Well, she lives. Finally got it all together, all fixed-ish. Clutch feels good, brakes have never felt better. Steering wheel is still off a hair and the steering seems a bit "floaty" to the one side, but she goes straight down the road when I let go of the wheel.
