I'm getting ready to put a '54 manual into my truck but have noticed a problem. The whole shift pattern seems to be moved about 1/2" forward. 2-hi works at the full forward position, halfway between where 2-hi and 4-hi should be is 4-hi, where 4-hi should be is neutral, where neutral should be is 4-low and the shifter won't travel any further back than that. All of the selections work, they just aren't in the right place... I can't find anything obviously bent on the shifter or any clear way of adjusting it. Any help you can render would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Install the shifter wiht the "big" bolt tight but the little bolt loose.

Shift the T-case into 2-Hi.

Move the "gate" to just barely NOT touch the front of the shift lever
and tighten the small bolt.

If the shift patterns isn't "right" then it's because some component in the shifter
setup is not the correct part.
