I beat it home after work and threw the charger on the truck while I put tools away.
It was daunting but I did get brave enough to rip the battery charger off after half an hour and give it a whirl.
Nothing, Just cranky cranky. I have gas when the computer turns on. Kind of like a accellerator pump shot to get things started, injectors don't fire until it sees RPM signal
I get out my spark tester... sure enough no fire.
So I grab my spare coil from yesteryear and pop it in:
I had tach signal on the computer so I knew the dizzy was talking (they will do something similar if they don't have tach signal.
Just start and die start and die. Starts quick though.
I start poking around and notice my fuel pressure gauge is basically nil. I jump it to let it run and it won't prime.
It was super low on fuel when I dropped the tank (intentionally) and I dumped a little more in it but its crammed against the wall and it is hard to get gas can in there without making a huge mess.
So I took a gamble and made it drag its sorry self out of the garage.
Dumped 4gal of gas in it, system primes immediately. It fired right off, kinda hunted for a bit and settled in to a nice idle.
How it starts:
I didn't have the fans hooked up so I didn't run it super long, temp got up to 190, dash gauge even works. Sender for Autometer gauge had a drip.
So yeah, I am pretty stoked!
It does have tip in bog which is pretty well documented on how to deal with. It also kind of hunts a bit. Like I let the clutch out and the IAC opens to keep the idle where it was, Push the clutch in and the idle climbs until the IAC pulls it back down.
But its still a baby, it hasn't done any learning at all yet either.
It is downright AMAZING how smooth it idles as well. I thought it idled fine before but everything down the exhaust note is totally different.
Anyway, tongiht I circled back and I think I fixed the coolant leak by throwing more fittings and several different more connections to leak. I did put the efan box back together and plugged it in and put a lot of the new wiring in loom. And I also deleted this tumor of wire.
