Hey guys,
As long as ive owned my ranger every time the AC compressor would kick on while the truck was in drive the truck would jump forward a bit. I ended up having to replace my IAC and when i did the initial idle re-learn process i had the AC on which caused the computer to over compensate and raise the idle to much when the load for the AC was introduced. I did the re-learn again and the truck idles much smoother and i cant even notice when the compressor kicks on now.
Heres what i did
1. disconnect the battery for 10-15 min
2. with all accessories off let the truck idle in park for 10 min
3. introduce accessories individually (Lights, Defroster, AC, exc) leave the AC for last
4. Turn the AC on, and let the truck idle for 5 min
5. Drive the truck around for 10 -15 min, let the truck coast at times, and drive with the AC on and off to help the truck learn the proper values.
