a4ld shift kit

I have an '87 a4ld, it takes it a good while to go into drive gear when cold but goes into reverse REALLY hard like shakes the whole truck hard, thinking a shift kit will fix this as it dosent slip and goes up and down through drive gears fine and no noises or leakage, fluid is new as well as filter.

main Q is about which kit to get? i know that transgo makes one as well as superior, anyone had bad experiences with one or would recommend one over the other?

also if you think I'm off base here and a shift kit wont fix this let me know - thanks

Hello

I have transgo in my 85 B2. Its a 94 4.0l A4LD out of AWD Areostar with 85 VB. I did it in my shed and I am happy. Get a for gasket for the VB from Ford. Follow the instructions to a tee and you will be happy. I beat the crap out of it in the bush and it does not over heat but it has an extra tranny cooler.
