What is this plug right above the shift linkage for? Could i possibly use it for my trans temp gauge?

Sorry for the poor image position i had to crawl under to look, It’s a 90 ranger towards the tail shaft of the A4LD. Here’s a better image with the tranny pan bolts in view

I have never seen sucj a clean ranger up here.

That thing is in better shape than my 2011
 
No. That is an adjustment for one of the bands... not a plug.

You’ll have to excuse PJ.... he’s never seen the underside of a Ranger that wasn’t rusted to sh!t.
