I've decided to go big and SCRAP the A4LD and switch to 5 speed, (Knee pain be damned)

I'm going to pick up a parts 88 bronco tomorrow. It has no engine, axles, or wheels but Tranny, T-case, and everything else is there.

My question is, what do I need to pull to convert my 89 EB Bronco to a manual set up?

Obviously the trans, and t-case. And pedals, Master cylinder, linkages and such. But what about the ECM? Anything else I should grab that I need?

I don't plan on keeping the pile long, I'm hoping to strip off what I need while it sits on the trailer and then take it right the bone orchard by Sunday.

Any help is good help, thanks!

You will need the ECM from the 5 sped Bronco. I'm not sure if an 88 will work in an 89.

Ok, I'll pull it just in case then.

Should I be concerned about putting the 88 pedals in an 89?

I think you will just need the clutch pedal. It should slide in place.

I did one on my 88 but I got an ecm from an 88 w cruise control like mine and after figuring out the starter and neutral position sender on the trans wiring its all good. Also you will need the n/s switch for the pedal.

I pulled everything the was attached to the clutch pedal, including the wire clip and about 3" of the wires from where I chopped it out.

The plug is there in your automatic rig, just has a cover on it, should plug in. Not positive if 90 plug is the same but should just be plug n play. You're gonna be stoked when you get er done.

I have an 89, maybe I'll get lucky. Yeah, I'm pretty amped about it all, I hope it goes smooth. I was thinking that since I have the manual setup out and fully accessible, is there anything preventative I should do to it? Change seals, gaskets, etc?

I still have to finish pulling the A4LD out, I was hoping to get it done tomorrow, but this family Christmas BS got in the way.
