I've been blowing up passenger side inner U joint knuckles on my Dana 35 TTB. Anyone know where I can buy a stronger axle shaft or a replacement knuckle maybe chrome moly that can put up with the abuse.

90 B2 4" lift 4.0L Dana 35 LS TTB, 33" Cooper STT tires.

Thanks,

Harl

RCV Performance released an axle shaft kit for TTB axles maybe two or so years back, you might give them a call.

I would suspect you have some sort of issue happening though if it's the same joint that keeps breaking each time (your post isn't real clear... if it's the center u-joint that's breaking, it might be because of the yoke binding at full suspension droop, you might need to clearance it a bit (the article RonD linked describes this near the bottom).

Wasp, your terminology is unconventional and it makes it hard for us to understand your problem. The only knuckle on your truck is the steering knuckle which has a couple of ball joints on it. The axle shafts have yokes on the ends and axle joints connect them. As Junkie said there is often a clearance issue in the window of the axle beam. The yokes have very little capacity for movement and you have to grind them for clearance. No offense, but you don't have to be a bad-ass dude to exceed the limits of the yokes and the beam window. My beam window is ground out enough that an engorged raccoon could squeeze through it. My yokes are heavily clearanced. I have done articles on this in the tech library, though it's been a long time and I don't recall them clearly. Part of building a truck is doing things like this. Your parts didn't fail because they were weak. They needed to be modified for the new requirements you asked of them.
